Cable Girls (original name: Las Chicas Del Cable) is Netflix original Spanish period drama web television series.
The first season, consisting of eight episodes, premiered on Netflix worldwide on April 28, 2017. The second aired on December 25, 2017 and the third season came out on September 7, 2018. The fourth season was released on August 9, 2019. Season 5 aired in two parts, with the first part being released on February 14th, 2020 and the second on July 3, 2020.
Synopsis[]
The series is centered in 1920s Madrid, where four women at the National Telephone Company ring in the revolution as they manage romance, friendship, and the modern workplace.
Plot[]
The series is set in Madrid, Spain during 1928. The national telephone company opens its headquarters in the city centre and hundreds of girls queue up to get a job as a “cable girl” in the only place that represents progress and modernity for women at the time. Four girls, coming from very different backgrounds, will start work as operators. From that day on, jealousy, envy and betrayal will get mixed up with the hunger for success, friendship and love.[2]
